Product Designer UX/UI working remotely from Brazil.
Straight answers about how I work, what I design and which tools I use. Versão em português.
About me
Who is Diogo Luan?
I am Diogo Luan, a Product Designer based in São João da Boa Vista, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. I work on UX/UI, product design and design systems for apps, web platforms and B2B SaaS. My portfolio includes work for Recrutei (HR tech) and Amo Ofertas (food delivery), plus independent projects in fintech and expense management.
What does a Product Designer do?
A Product Designer owns the whole experience of a digital product: understanding the business and user problem, running research, designing flows and screens, testing with real people and following development through to release. It is not only about making the interface look good. It is about deciding what to build and how it solves a real problem.
What is the difference between UX, UI and Product Design?
UX is the logic: flows, information architecture and ease of use. UI is the visual layer: typography, color, components and hierarchy. Product Design brings both together with business goals, metrics and close work with product and engineering. I work across all three.
Do you work remotely? Which countries?
Yes. I am based in Brazil and work remotely with companies in Brazil and abroad. I speak Portuguese natively and work in English for written communication, documentation and design handoff.
Services and projects
What kind of projects do you take on?
Redesigns of apps and websites, flows such as onboarding, sign-up, login and checkout, B2B dashboards and admin panels, design systems from scratch or evolving an existing one, clickable prototypes to validate ideas, and landing pages.
Do you build design systems?
Yes. I built the design system for Recrutei's applicant tracking system together with the team: color, type and spacing tokens, a Figma component library aligned with the code, and usage documentation for both design and engineering. The library went from 1 real component to 33 reusable ones.
Do you design fintech and banking apps?
Yes. My portfolio includes Lastro, an independent project for a digital bank aimed at self-employed people with variable income: it turns irregular deposits into a steady weekly paycheck and sets tax aside automatically. The case study covers brand, architecture, components and the main app screens.
Do you have B2B SaaS experience?
Yes. I work on B2B product at Recrutei, a recruitment platform (ATS), and my portfolio includes Cota, an independent project for corporate expense management with AI receipt reading, a web panel for managers and a mobile app for employees.
Do you design delivery and e-commerce apps?
Yes. I designed screens for Amo Ofertas, a delivery app and partner panel, including the redesign of partner login and sign-up with code verification and password recovery.
How I work
What is your design process?
It starts with a conversation about the goal, the audience and the deadline. Then user research and data analysis, wireframes to validate structure, visual design with organized components and, finally, delivery with a prototype, documentation and support for the engineering team.
Which tools do you use?
Figma for interfaces, prototypes and design systems. Claude Code to prototype in code and speed up handoff. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for images, icons and illustrations.
Do you use AI in your design process?
Yes, as a tool. I use Claude Code to turn ideas into working prototypes faster and test interactions in the browser. AI speeds up execution, but it does not replace user research or product decisions.
How long does a UX/UI project take?
It depends on scope. A single flow, such as sign-up or checkout, usually takes a few weeks. A new product or a full design system takes longer. The timeline is agreed in the first conversation, along with the steps and deliverables.
